Make the India center feel core
People join and stay partly because of meaning. If internal language still says “offshore team” while the charter says “platform owner,” culture splits.
Brand moves that matter
- Name the center and its owned products clearly in company directories
- Put India leaders on global forums when they own the work
- Share customer or user impact stories, not only utilization
- Kill slang that marks India as second-class delivery
What not to do
Expensive rebrands with no mandate change. Staff will notice the gap.
30 / 60 / 90
- 30: Audit internal language and directory labels.
- 60: Align naming with the real charter.
- 90: One visible ownership story circulated company-wide.
Takeaway
Internal brand follows substance.
Change the work, then the words. Not the reverse.
